At Rumpl, Shane joined the team as the 10th employee leading the e-commerce function, As a department of one, he led the entire department front to back with a shoestring budget. As the company grew, Shane built out the Analytics, Customer Experience, Marketing, and E-Commerce departments to scale the business 3X while maintaining profit targets. He's redesigned the site twice, launched additional revenue channels, expanded e-commerce internationally, designed product, and launched dozens of new features to continue to drive LTV.

When Shane joined Rumpl, the analytics function was limited to CSV exports and no central source of truth or automated reporting. The first big project he focused on was setting up a database and all the necessary data pipelines to have the date flowing into one place - using a combination of AWS Redshift, Stitch, Littledata, Segment, and Mode Analytics. Once the setup was complete, Shane did all company wide reporting related to the e-commerce function by building out dozens of SQL reports and dashboards in Mode to automate reporting, and uncover business opportunities.

At Lyft, Shane worked in both operations and analytics on the supply (driver) side of the business. He was in charge of both launching new store-within-a-store driver locations and also measuring the effectiveness of the service offered at these locations. That included creating a playbook to launch and train employees for these locations (training, furniture, layout, etc.) and also creating the tools and feedback loop to measure KPIs like wait time, NPS, reason for visit etc. The location NPS became a company level OKR that the C level would report on that I created from scratch.
